Our cycling journey through Normandy began with a pre-dawn glide through light fog and wildlife-filled pastures.
We arrived with plenty of time for stretching maneuvers on the train platform:
Bikes are allowed on the trains, so we could take all our gear down to the border with Brittany to start our trip.
The bike route to Le Mont St Michel was car-free.
We all enjoyed crepes for dinner at a fantastic creperie above the hustle and bustle of the main strip.
The tide was out. A bird took a mighty dump on Hans soon after this picture was taken. And then his sunglasses fell apart, but all worked out in the end.
Afterwards we rode about 30 km to our first night on the road, at a hotel in Ducey.
