The Tour de France Femmes took place in August this year, after the Olympics, so we headed to Nice to rent a campervan and head up to Alpe d'Huez where the race finished.
After a day in Nice we picked up our van and headed to the first camping, an hour and a half up the Route Napoleon.
The drive to Alpe d'Huez went smoothly, and we stopped for groceries in Gap. Once on the mountain we found a good parking spot by km 4 and spent a rainy night on the mountain.
On Sunday morning we walked up to the village, and then came back down to the van to watch the amateurs on the climb and eat some duck tacos.
When the race finally came by Demi had just a minute over Kasia, who managed to finish with enough of a gap to secure the yellow jersey.

We walked up to the village to meet Loren, Hans's colleague who was recording a podcast, and who knows Kasia and how to find her at the press conference.
The following day we drove the Route des Grandes Alpes over multiple passes to Sospel, where we camped for the final night.
After our breakfast in Sospel we drove over to Menton and along the coast to Nice to return the van and fly home. A whirlwind trip!
