It has not escaped us that this blog has something of a misnomer, seeing as how it mostly reflects our time in the countryside now, despite us spending most of our time in the city. But so be it.
The neighbors decided it was time to take down the large and stately birch that dominated their front yard. It was maybe 130 years old they think. Hard to say. But it was not doing well the last couple of years.
We got some firewood (and a project for the coming weeks to process it) out of it.
Did some work on our apple trees too.
