Lunch and Tour de France

On Wednesday we were all aching from the long hike the day before, and suffering from major sunburns. What's more, it was the hottest day of the trip, at 33 degrees. We decided to take an easy evening ride through the valley and spent the day at the market in Samoens and up on the Col de Joux Plane, where we had some lunch.

After seeing Hans's through the years, everyone wanted Opinels. And the apricots were fantastic.

Finally, on Thursday, we headed to see a Tour stage: the rare and wonderful mountain time trial.

We spent most of the race on the lower slopes, where we had a nice place in the shade, but when we ventured up we found these enthusiastic crowds.

Yes, Froome in yellow again.
